![]() ![]() I do this for each unit before I ship it out, but its always good to have a double check and I do not warranty or cover the cost to your bike if there happens to be any damage due to an error during assembly. For your own piece of mind - I suggest double checking the polarity of the adapter using a voltmeter prior to use. Accepting and use of this item equates to an agreement to these terms and buyer will not hold the seller liable for any further damages or problems. *Disclaimer* Use of this adapter is at user’s own risk and seller does not claim responsibility for any damage to the bike, Batteries or injury caused by use of the device or the item its being used for. Shipping time varies based on the day job, I usually try to get everything in the mail within a couple days of ordering, but can’t promise. Also, if you’re package arrives damaged, please take a picture and let me know as I insure all packages and we’ll get it squared away. I only list stock that I have on hand that can be built up within a couple of days. Typically arrive within 3-5 days after that via USPS. Please expect 5-6 days for shipping time (shipping out). IF this happens, you can try to “jumpstart” the battery - see video here: Also, if the bike shuts off when the battery drains, don’t power cycle the bike and try to keep riding, that will also overdrain. SO - be careful and change batteries when low, and do not leave on bikes overnight as the phantom draw may brick the battery. If you regularly overdraw the Dewalt, or Milwaukee batteries, they may quit being recognized by the charger. The paddle is easily removable so that the stock battery you have can still be used as well!Ī note regarding battery drain - Stacyc bikes have a low voltage cutoff built into the bike, but designed around their own OEM batteries. The unit clips into the stock battery slot and is secured with a single screw to hold the paddle in place, while the battery adapter is attached with some double back tape and zip ties around the seat post and top tube. The original custom adapter for running Stacyc bikes using dewalt 20v batteries! No mods to the bike needed and can still use OEM Stacyc batteries as well.ĭesign is recently updated for the new 12/16 models and should not have any issues going forward. This would actually save you money if you sold the old saw.SALE SALE SALE! Price drop to get some sales before the new year! your getting less batteries, but more battery power with the 5.0, so another amp hour of runtime if the adapter set comes with 2.0 batteries. Yea, the bare tool saw is only $99 right now.Īnother option, on sale for only $20 more than your adapter kit - you can get the new 20v saw, with charger, 5.0 battery, and soft case. There may be more to your situation, but just off what you posted, buying new seems like more for your money. Just doesn't seem to make sense to lay out the money on the adapter kit to keep 1 tool going that you can replace for less money. ![]() If there is ever gonna be a time to upgrade tools and get the most for your money spent, this is it.Ī bare tool 20v Dewalt saw should be cheaper than the adapter kit if you already have 20v stuff and batteries. Just making the point, you have options here. ![]() I was in the same boat, and upgraded to the Milwaukee m18 system. IMO, The adapter kit only makes sense for people that have a large collection of older Dewalt tools. MOST people use the opportunity to upgrade into a new system. Even sold for $40 for each tool, you won't be far away from the money you'd spend out of pocket anyway - but with new tools and an impact driver and flashlight too. You can sell what you have on eBay to put towards it. This 4 tool kit is on sale, $100 off, for $249. The adapter kit you're looking at is $129 with the small batteries. A new sawzall bare tool would be under $100 I think. Just putting this out there, but for the cost of the batteries, adapter, and charger, - you are not far away from a new drill kit, with batteries and charger, or maybe even a drill impact combo kit on sale. I'll leave it up anyway for other people since sales are posted, and someone else might be in a similar situation. Edit - I posted all this assuming you were gonna buy the adapter "kit", and not just the $40 adapter. ![]()
